The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Car You're Hoping For
We already knew that The Simpsons was teaming up with Fortnite, but that's not the only destination where enthusiasts can experience the universe of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to Rocket League, introducing an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in Fortnite. However, whether players will truly desire to use it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle everyone is itching to drive, and this isn't it.
The Dream Vehicle
While many gamers would undoubtedly love to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed car the patriarch designed himself in the 1991 episode "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the Canyonero, the heavy-duty truck featured in season 10. Instead, fans will obtain the Simpsons' everyday beat-up four-door, which has been in the family since 1989. Even though this particular car has seen better days, it stands as an iconic element of the show. And for players who analyze Rocket League car hitboxes, the Simpson family car uses the same hitbox as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the only customization item from the series coming to Rocket League. This limited-time event will additionally feature a set of objectives to unlock more rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the missions will require players to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and drive a distance worthy of picking up the perfect donuts!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards isn't yet revealed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
If the key art is any indication, it seems fans will also receive rims featuring a TV displaying the show's title sequence, alien antenna toppers, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and rocket boosts inspired by burning tires and Krusty Burger.
Launch Dates and Crossover Details
This event coincides with the major Simpsons invasion of Fortnite's island, which includes a brand-new map of the fictional town, in addition to a 30-day seasonal progression system. The Rocket League x The Simpsons event begins on November 1st and concludes on Nov. 17.
