Hazlewood given the all-clear from fitness concerns but Abbott out of Ashes Test
Hazlewood's career includes 295 international wickets with an average of 24.21 runs per wicket in 76 Tests
Josh Hazlewood has been cleared to link up with the Aussie lineup for the initial Test against England after an injury scare, but fellow pace bowler the paceman will miss the match
The two experienced hamstring issues while representing their state team versus Victoria in the Sheffield Shield this past Wednesday
Tests indicated Hazlewood, 34 did not sustain muscle damage. The uncapped Abbott, 33, has a "moderate grade" injury
Skipper Pat Cummins is unavailable for the first Test, commencing later this month, so the loss of another experienced fast bowler such as Hazlewood could have proven a major blow
The bowler stood doubtful to feature in Perth, as Hazlewood prepares to team up Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland forming the fast bowling unit
Cummins, currently healing from a back injury, is thought to be on track to return for the Brisbane match beginning December 4 in Brisbane
Batsman Steve Smith will captain the side in Cummins' absence
Like many of Aussie squad members, Hazlewood participated in ongoing fixtures of domestic cricket building up to the England series
Until this match, he had not played domestic first-class games for New South Wales since last season
He felt tightness in his posterior chain during the final stages of the opposition's batting on Wednesday and was substituted for safety reasons
The two bowlers participated in batting for the follow-on innings in a losing cause in a substantial margin
"We have one week until the Test matches - we consistently choose being cautious," stated the captain
"The medical staff sought to identify the exact situation prior to testing it that could worsen the injury more severe"
"It's rare to get him upbeat, making it encouraging to see him smiling"
"He knows his body thoroughly. He appeared somewhat concerned (and) wanted to get professional evaluation"
The bowler collected 57 international selections with the national team in limited-overs formats
Without Test experience the pace bowler represents additional pace options within the team, offering support to the main pace trio
