The British government is prepared to move forward with using the entire amount of immobilized Russia's holdings to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They further noted that the initiative would be executed in strong partnership with the US.

British penalties have frozen over £25bn of Russian resources since the Russian government launched its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. But, until now, money sent to Ukraine using Russian assets had exclusively been taken from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward utilizing the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state assets to halt hostilities.

He noted that additional sanctions soon would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement follows European Union leaders gathered in Copenhagen recently to consider utilizing immobilized Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or utilize frozen Russian funds, as reported by media sources.
